It was everything that was promised. Great mountain get away.

Poor communication but nice property Positive: The location is great, the place was clean and the amenities were sufficient. The big windows were very nice except for the morning, when the sun would hit us directly in the face quite early. Even with eye masks, the direct sun will wake you up. Still, we generally enjoyed the stay itself. Negative: The communication before the stay was poor. I needed to request the stay, and they increased the price by nearly $100, giving me then option to accept it or decline. I felt deceived during the booking process. After the booking I received several automated messages, some didn't even make sense (offering me 28night discount, when I already booked 3 nights). I had to follow up on every questions I asked (separately). I was provided incorrect information (asked if there are blinds to cover the windows, was told yes, but there are none, only mosquito net). So even with eye covers (which they offer), direct sun will wake you up. We also struggled with the central heating which was super loud at night and woke us up many times the first night, but the subsequent nights we used only AC for heating and that was much quieter. I was then offered $100 discount on next stay if I provide perfect review.

No lights were on and it was completely dark when we arrived so it was very difficult to find the right key box. Stairs and walking path were covered with 4-6" of wet, slippery snow (although it had not snowed that day) which made it treacherous to get around. (Correction, the only lights on were large string lights in front of the house right in front of the house number.) We also had to do a little shoveling to be able to park safely out of the roadway. We had to drive 10 mins back down to get a cell signal to ask for help in gaining entrance only to find a voicemail stating that someone would call back in the morning. When we DID get someone on the phone, she clearly responded that it was our fault that we couldn't figure out which key box to find the correct key in (in the pitch dark) because directions were clearly stated in the very long info listed in the VRBO app, which was problematic in the dark with no cell signal. When we got inside, we found that all remotes needed new batteries, that we couldn't figure out how work the TV (no directions), and that there are reading lights above the bed whose switches we never found. On the morning of our checkout, we tried to make English muffins in the toaster oven, but it set off the fire alarm which is hung so high we couldn't reach it to reset it. I guess the toaster oven needs to be wiped out so this doesn't happen to someone else? Was the bed comfy? Yes. Good water pressure? Yes.

The property was the perfect fit for a weekend getaway.
